Google announced in a blog post that support for the Google Drive app for PC and Mac will end on December 11, with the app being shut down on March 12 2018. In the G Suite blog post it is mentioned that 'With this launch, Google Drive for Mac/PC is officially deprecated.Because I hadn't heard of this before AND because I was being asked to install a new app on my computer, I thought it best to do some investigation.
